PERX — SALARY SACRIFICE THAT GOES FURTHER THAN THE CAR

Most salary sacrifice schemes give employees a car. Perx gives them an EV, a home charger, solar panels and battery storage — all in one package, all deducted gross from their salary before tax and National Insurance are calculated. The tax efficiency applies to everything in the bundle.

HOW PERX WORKS

Choose

Employees browse and select a vehicle from the Perx range — new or pre-loved — on a contract of 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. They can add a home charger, solar panels and battery storage to the same package.

Sacrifice

The full monthly cost is deducted from gross salary — before income tax and National Insurance are calculated. Employees pay less for more, and the saving increases with the size of the package.

Drive

The vehicle is delivered. Orbis connects to it automatically — charging costs, range, maintenance alerts and expense claims are tracked from day one. No admin required from the employee.

THE TAX EFFICIENCY, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Salary sacrifice works because the deduction happens before HMRC gets involved. Every pound sacrificed reduces the employee's taxable income — so they pay less income tax and less National Insurance on it. The employer saves on employer NI too.

For a fully electric vehicle, Benefit in Kind tax is currently 3% of the vehicle's P11D value. That's a fraction of what it would be for a petrol or diesel equivalent. Combined with the gross salary deduction, a basic-rate taxpayer typically saves around 32% on the total cost of their package. A higher-rate taxpayer saves around 42%.

MORE THAN JUST A VEHICLE

The vehicle

New or pre-loved EVs available across all major manufacturers. Contract terms of 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. Maintenance, insurance and breakdown cover can be included.

Home charger

A workplace-grade home charger installed at the employee's property, sacrificed as part of the same monthly deduction. OZEV-approved installers only.

Solar panels

Rooftop solar panels added to the bundle and sacrificed gross alongside the vehicle and charger. Reduces home charging cost to near zero on sunny days.

Battery storage

A home battery system stores surplus solar generation for overnight EV charging. The bundle pays for itself faster when all three energy components work together.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR FLEET

Perx is configured by the fleet manager inside Orbis. You set the parameters — vehicle eligibility, contract terms, budget caps — and employees self-serve from there. Every vehicle contracted through Perx is automatically connected to Orbis IO, so charging costs, expense claims and compliance records are tracked from the moment the vehicle is delivered.

For HR and Finance, Perx generates the payroll deduction data automatically. No manual input, no spreadsheet reconciliation.
